From a German Idealist angle: the Absolute isn't a person who "chooses" to create or destroy. It's a Self-unfolding Process; reality learning itself through tension, rupture, synthesis...
So, humans feeling "godlike" in domination or destruction, that's not divinity, that's fragmentation mistaking power for wholeness. Real creation increases complexity, consciousness, freedom.
