On #ThisDayInHistory in 1863, the US Army did the #BearRiverMassacre in what is now Idaho. #Shoshone "#Indians" who had resisted white #settlers were deemed a threat, so between 250 and 500 people -- men, women, children -- were shot dead; 70 lodges and their food were torched.
