bellebcooperJackie & Shadow's season has officially started! Jackie laid her first egg a couple of days ago, and Shadow made sure to get a good look at it when he came by for a visit later. This is the nest that got me hooked on bird nest live cams, so I'm excited to start a new season with them again.
Jackie & Shadow's eggs got broken really quickly, which is super sad, but since it happened so early in the season, there's a chance they'll lay a new clutch and try again. They've been hanging around the nest a bit more the last few days, and mating a lot, so fingers crossed...

@amenonsen At least one broke while they were incubating, it seemed like. They left the eggs alone for ages, about 3 hours, and some ravens got into them, but I think they already knew they were broken or otherwise no good to have left them for so long. No idea why, hopefully just bad luck and the next clutch will work out 🤞
