After Hours (Martin Scorsese, 1985) 4K Restoration at the cinema. An unusual film for #Scorsese, a surreal farce that strongly echoes Buñuel and Kafka. A strange, circular dream in the Old New York full of attractive but strange women who turn on the hapless office worker, Paul (played with the right ambivalence by Griffin Dunne.) Great, nervous cinematography that gives the film its unique feel.

But I think it has become slightly lightweight after seeing so many great and weird Old New York films that dig deeper into the city's old and dark mysteries. As a farcical Noo Yawk Ulysses full of strange women, it still works wonders and remains consistently
