@EUCommission is that why you're not telling Trump to "fuck off"?

@EUCommission
I believe it when I have it.

Telekom still has shitty peerings causing connections to certain endpoints to be quite shitty and in regards to fiber connectivity to the home - well - my city says telekom is going to connect it until the end of 2026. Telekom on the other hand says "not planned"...

@agowa338 @EUCommission Come to Schleswig-Holstein, where 84 % of households can already be connected to fiber if they want it. https://www.bkzsh.de/bundesweit-spitze-mit-84-prozent/
Bundesweit spitze: 84 Prozent anschlussfähiger Adressen in SH

Acht von zehn Schleswig-Holsteiner:innen kann ein Glasfaser-Angebot unterbreitet werden, 55% der Haushalte verfügen bereits über einen Anschluss.

@EUCommission great! Now we can watch our sponsored genocides in HR. 🙂
@aguVV @EUCommission Ban US tech then. Fast.
@kristopher_klein @aguVV @EUCommission
also Israel's tech, which is currently bought by Germany for surveillance and warfare
@EUCommission
Fancy words while the real protagonists of the cast are never mentioned, nor is it described to public opinion how they control the facts or carry out real politics. Include large investment funds and international corporations in your speech. Their budgets are greater than the GDP of many countries.
@EUCommission please, make companies who make money with Internet pay for the infrastructure. Communication and information access must be a citizen right. It's nonsense users paying Internet connections for making rich people richer.
@EUCommission Unstoppable surveillance without reason. PNR databases.
@EUCommission Does that Act include trustworthy ISPs and banning door-to-door salespeople waving shady papers and lying to people's faces to coax them into signing contracts?
@EUCommission is chat control somehow included also in this project?
@EUCommission In Luxembourg we have a very rapid reliable internet. What we have to get away from in Europe is the iron grip of the American broligarchs 😒
@EUCommission Alas, the illustration is a perfect example of a centralized, non resilient network, with a single point of failure. Mastodon is a very good example of successful "innovative tech" because it's decentralized by design.

@EUCommission

Great!

Now actively regulate the techbros that are pushing disinformation, hate and antidemocracy propaganda down our throats. Please.

@TCatInReality @EUCommission
The EU Parliament does not have ONE SINGLE account on their own or any other dedicated European server!
... But they have 189 (ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-NINE!!) official accounts across the foreign Xitter/FB/Insta/MS/Google social networks!!!
https://european-union.europa.eu/contact-eu/social-media-channels_en#/search
Apart from that, the EU's dependency on MS/Alphabet/Meta/Amazon++ for their entire IT infrastructures - inc. DEFENCE - is almost total!!
Trump just needs to flip a switch to bring Europe to its knees.

@Quantillion @EUCommission

Excellent point.

It's totally negligent to be posting to Twitter or Facebook. The EU should be leading the way in moving Europeans to safer online spaces.

But kudos to them for having this presence on Mastodon.

@EUCommission Are we talking about peering practices of TIER 2 Carriers like Deutsche Telekom here? 😏

@EUCommission

Our proposed Digital Networks Act is here to scrap old copper wires and push modern and harmonised networks.

FAIR PRICES, HA HA HA

AT TRIPLE THE PRICE OF CABLE CONNECTIONS OR MORE IN GERMANY

STOP LISTENING TO LOBBYISTS, THEY DO NOT PAY THE BILLS

ONLY BRIBES?

@EUCommission how are your statements getting together with the analysis of the initiative by @epicenter_works ?

Today the EU Commission published the long-awaited Digital Networks Act. We analysed it immediately. Our first take: dangerous. The proposal threatens #NetNeutrality weakens independent regulators, and opens the door to network fees. https://epicenter.works/en/content/the-eu-commission-is-gutting-net-neutrality

@EUCommission Please ensure that #IPv6 is at the heart of any EU internet plans. All ISPs and hosting providers should offer it, enabled by default.

The free market has failed to replace legacy IP because of the chicken and egg situation and it needs political pressure to engage.

@EUCommission wow, how much did your members get corruptly influenced and straight up bribed by corporations to do this? Seriously, how much were you each paid by corporations to make this?

What absolute garbage of corporate-backed for-profit ideas is this? Centralization, surveillance, consolidation of power while reducing regulatory power of independent regulators? Getting rid of rules that protect citizens?

You do realize that the technofascism industry isn't something to try to replicate?

@EUCommission But gutting the net neutrality ?
@EUCommission lol forgetting to mention postponing the fibernetwork rollout to 2035...
@EUCommission
You seems to forget that more dependency from US fascist oligarchs' companies is exactly what we should not do, search or get. Deepen the atlantic ocean and cut fibers to US is the goal.

@EUCommission

the EU is still complicit in the genocide of Gaza

READY for high-speed Europe!
