Sitting in front of #macOS with windows managed by Rectangle Pro, which is lovely BTW. I keep forgetting it's not just part of the desktop.

But you know what I miss? Tiling window managers. The friendly ones, with tab stacks, key bindings for "now we're snapping! now we're not!" and suchlike. Something not unlike Pop OS—or at least Pop OS in 2022. Don't know how their new Cosmic desktop compares to the old experience.

Not sure I even *can* get tab stacks in macOS.

@randomgeek yes I used to run a tiling WM my work mac #yabai https://github.com/asmvik/yabai was awesome for me I highly recommend .
@randomgeek MacOS does have some tiling stuff built into it now — I use it all the time https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/mac-help/mchlef287e5d/mac
Tile windows on Mac

On your Mac, quickly arrange windows by dragging them, using menu options, or using keyboard shortcuts.

@grmpyprogrammer I have fiddled with the built-in zones functionality, and it's nice! A little clunky with my unnecessarily wide monitor though.
