πŸ€“ This is a #nerd post! Just dug up an old #photo of me #flying during my #Diamond #Katana days. πŸ›©οΈ And the device I used for #flight #navigation was a #Motorola #PhotonQ 4G LTE. One of those famous #sliders with full #QWERTY #keyboard! ⌨️ Had to solder a #SIM slot into that (was "Sprint" hardwired). And I ran @jolla #SailfishOS on it! 😎 Aaand I used some app like #PoorMaps and piped self-converted #MapTiles into it that I downloaded from #OpenFlightMaps. 🀯 Totally safe though! πŸ˜‚ #avgeek #aviation
@frank @jolla Now this is cool! How long did you use that phone?
@Muppensish That's hard to tell. But I certainly used it as a daily driver, even though it was a lacking experience (apps-wise). It then got replaced, once I got my F(x)Tec Pro1 ... which I used with #SailfishOS and #Android, trying out what works best... until I unfortunately drowned it. β›΅πŸ˜… Then I got back on Android, until my current #Pixel 7 Pro with @GrapheneOS installed. For curiosity I got myself a Sony Xperia 10 II and flashed #SailfishOS onto it. It's sitting in a drawer mostly though. 🀷
@frank damn you got the f(x)tec pro 1!? I tried to order it but it got delayed countless times and gave up.
That seemed like such a great experience!
@Muppensish Yeah, it really was great. The *snap* when the screen pops up revealing the keyboard! I really miss it. I still have it actually, but failed to repair it. Spare screens were easy to get from AliExpress: "Elephone U" had the same. But it suffered either some water damage in the PCB where the screen gets connected and/or the ribbon cable for the display is broken. But still boots and connects. I bet, some other owners would be glad for a ribbon cable replacement! Just my guess.
