Joined the forkiverse and don''t have a stunning view to share in drizzle January, but look how nice this cutting is that my friend brought in for me at work!
Any suggestions to keep alive gratefully received

@angrezibahu

Pothos plants do great in offices. I guess they like fluorescent lights.

Some people keep them in water all the time. I've never tried that. I'd put that one in a small flower pot with some potting soil.

I suggest making a habit of looking at the leaves every day. If they start getting wilted and soft, it's time to water it. If they get crispy around the edges, it's had too much water.

@angrezibahu

They are incredibly resilient. There was a time when I could keep nothing else alive, but the pothos soldiered on in spite of me.

@springdiesel this may be the lucky plant!
@springdiesel I actually love tracking something in nature every day. A few years ago, my kids and I found a nest in the woods with eggs (song thrush) and we didn't disturb it, but it was at a height we could see it and we visited everyday and documented the eggs to hatching to fledging and it was lovely (sorry I don't know how to make these smaller images) #nature #forkiverse #magicinthemundane
@angrezibahu @springdiesel I did the same with a robin family in my wood shed last spring. It was a very special experience that I felt honored to be able to witness.
@angrezibahu @springdiesel @NatureMC Terrific photos-so lucky to watch the process!
@cobalt123 @springdiesel @NatureMC thanks - I’m feeling very guilty I used such big images on here though - I’m going text only from now on
@angrezibahu these resize nicely to fit the display screen if any device or desktop PC/Mac/laptop. Don’t worry about it.

In case it helps, on my Android phone I use Photo Resizer to change the resolution of images I post or SMS. They have a free version with ads but I love it so much I bought (not subscribed!) the paid version. I don't remember how much it cost but it wasn't painful.

@angrezibahu I love giving little props to my friends! <3
@bgoodoswaldo She's the absolute best! (not in the forkiverse to my knowledge)
@angrezibahu my kitchen window sill currently 😂
@bgoodoswaldo A secret garden!
@angrezibahu it brings me much joy - and as I give them out I make more!
@angrezibahu , wait till roots grow andnthen put it on a nice pot
@angrezibahu Welcome to the neighbourhood!
@angrezibahu I didn't see anyone say this yet, but they like it on the warm side so make sure they are situated to not the full force of a vent or the AC can take them out. They'd love a toasty corner! I keep mine on top of the fridge for warmth lol.
@vapaad that is serendipitous as I have the jar on my dresser adjacent but not to close to the radiator. Thanks

@angrezibahu Welcome!
If rooting a specie is difficult, perhaps try out to add a willow stick

@angrezibahu if that’s a Pothos then - once it has soil - just watch its leaves. They’ll droop when it’s thirsty. They’re very easy to keep alive and will rapidly head for the nearest sunlight
