@FediTips Since joining Mastodon and Pixelfed, I’ve had other colleagues ask me what the difference is between the Fediverse and mainstream services like Facegram and Instabook. I think your phone service analogy is brilliant! I’ll use that as my opener for my explanation now!

Yeah, I use the phone comparison all the time because absolutely everyone understands that, whereas a lot of people are not nearly as clear about how email works. Really not sure how "it's like email" became the default.
