Have I mentioned lately to you folks, what fine folks you are? Once again you have saved me from doom.

I'm still under a lot of pressure to get employment ASAP, but one of you (I'm assuming they don't want to be called out) single-handedly just saved me from a complete loss of phone+internet, covering several months of bills.

And another of you has contacted me with the possibility of some temporary part-time work.

And another has staked his reputation publicly on me with a LinkedIn post.

Still others have helped us over and over and over with food costs, often despite having fixed incomes.

I cannot thank you all enough. I cannot even begin to express my appreciation and respect for you folks. This is an amazing community, and I hope I can repay you all someday, and pay it forward, too.

I am in tears of relief and appreciation, folks. No exaggeration. Just when you start to think the world is full of terrible people, the amazing ones come out of the woodwork. They were there all along, quietly helping others who need it, not seeking kudos or commendations. Just...helping people, because they are kind. You folks have restored my faith in humanity, and then some. You've given me something to aspire towards. I want to *deserve* every bit of help you folks have given me, by being the same kind of person as you all. You are my role models. I want you to know that.
Not little tears, either. The big soggy kind that make you hide your face. Thank you so much. I can't say it enough.

@hosford42 Congrats, my friend. I know that feeling all too well. Like you're not sure if you're *allowed* to be excited and relieved; like you don't know if you "deserve" relief.

Not only are you allowed to feel relief, you deserve to feel relief as well.

Anyone who tells you that you "deserve" otherwise, "deserves" to be summarily blocked without discussion. Trust me on this.

Sometimes it just takes a fucking village, and that's okay.

@LibertyForward1 Thanks, I needed to hear this!

And I really want to be one of those folks lifting up others when I finally manage to climb out of this mess.

@hosford42

I'm so glad to hear this! There are so many people struggling right now that even one getting a hand up brings so much joy. ❤️❤️❤️

Next you'll find the job that inspires you *and* pays your bills 🤞

@hosford42
I am so happy to hear you are out of the corner and have some breathing space. And space to breath is what we need to face life and do what we must. ❤️

@hosford42

What truly lovely news. I’m not one of those people. I recently made a decision to limit such help to people & causes in my own country. But knowing that others have been so generous is uplifting for all of us.

I hope that job comes through. Not just a job, to cover living expenses, but “that job”. The one where your skills will be truly valued and you will feel respected.
