@Albertkinng i have students ask a few times a year. i just tell them to buy a copy when they inevitably have a bit more money and send them a licence.

whether it’s just someone trying to steal, a starving student, or between jobs — there’s no use being a jerk about it — i’m not getting any $$ from them.

so i might as well give it away. at least i get another user, rather then driving someone away.

and often that person will be much happier to pay for an update when that day comes along.
