A Total Fire ban will be in place today, Friday 9 January, for the Eastern and Southern Riverina, Southern Slopes and Monaro Alpine areas. Hot, dry and windy conditions are forecast across much of the state, increasing the fire danger.

Report all unattended fires to Triple Zero (000).
