How many Wizards are on Mastodon? We should have some sort of... Wizard Conclave.

If you know any real, actual Wizards that are on here, please boost and/or tag them in this so we can find one another.

A couple of quick qualifications:
- Grand Wizards need not apply
- Neither do TERF Wizards. Fuck JK Rowling

@amras brought up a couple of fair points, like if I'm specifically looking for "Wizards" or general practitioners of various occult arts.

I *was* originally hoping to find more "Wizards", like @dirtwizard666 because I know there are more people on here who call themselves "Wizard" and I thought it would be cool to try and network/gather/rally.

That said, I see no reason to discriminate based on terminology. To me, "Wizards" are generally a self-selecting bunch, the application form is 400 pages long but only has one question and that question is "Are you a wizard?"

So... whether you're an actual practitioner of a traditional occult arts, an autistic person who's weaponized their knowledge and hyperfixation into borderline transcendent wizened arcana, or (like me) someone who is doing their own "thing" that sort of defies simple explanation... my question to you is this.

Are you a Wizard?

@thevhswizard I love this definition and by it, yes, I am a wizard. I have lots of free time, weaponized autism, unfettered access to the wealth of knowledge that is the internet, and also I do occult-y things. Gonna start wearing the wizard title like a badge of honor, tbh

unclear on intent here (because of the other replies, and because I'm used to seeing the terms "magician"/"witch"/"practitioner") but

I do post about practical magic sometimes, and I'm surrounded by people who practice offline. So like, happy to chat magic. But I don't use the wizard label.

I think prefixes and epithets are really up to the individual wizard. They're probably better - or at least more meaningful - if they're an accolade bestowed on you by other people, but if you're feeling Great Wizard-y, go for it.

The only reason Grand is a banned prefix is... you know...

@thevhswizard I would like to be a wizard! I practice some light divination, mostly cartomancy and musicomancy (phonomancy? phonoselectomancy?) I have yet to find a hat that looks good on me pointier than a beanie, but I like cloaks and self-made tools. I've a bit of experience with Reclaiming, though I never got deep into it.
