Hello #Fediverse! Time for a proper #Introduction.

I’m a hobbyist developer and engineer (outside the tech industry) who loves building tools for education and personal use. I’m currently focused on:

🐍 #Python & #Django – Working through a 30-day library challenge right now!

💻 #Linux – Running #Fedora on my System76 laptop.

🏠 #HomeLab – Managing an #OpenMediaVault setup on a Ugreen DXP2800, plus lots of #Docker and #Portainer tinkering.

🗺️ #Geospatial – Exploring data science projects.

Current Projects:

DITS: A custom issue tracker application.

Devnexus: A lite weight TUI issue and pull request application

Byte_Board_Blog: My personal blog project.

Pushing code to my local #Gitea (MickGeekLabs) and GitHub.

When I’m not debugging, I’m likely hanging out with my 16-year-old ginger tabby cat. 🐈

@mickgeek Welcome! I've been thinking about getting a new NAS. Right now I have a Synology, but the UGREEN (I was looking at one of their 4-bays) name has come up a couple times. How do you like yours?

@jimmyb I also have one of the dxp4800 plus 4-bay models. I like them both. I run OpenMediaVault along with some docker services. They have been workng well.

@mickgeek I think it was the DXP4800 Plus I was looking at. Just now I saw the DH4300 Plus which also looks nice. I plan to use this as just file storage and backup but it's nice to see they have a bunch of neat features!

@mickgeek I'd rather you spend 5 minutes in a paint program like me than use genAI for that. It cheapens the work of real artists and homogenizes everyone.

@BigHeadMode I agree. I didn't think about that when I created that avatar and header image for this account. Out of respect for artists of all types, I changed My avatar and header image.

@helix2301 Hey Thanks. It's kind of messy and a pain to work in/with sometimes, but in all fun. I hope to get it better organized this year.
