My mouse wasn’t working properly earlier and it turns out Logitech Options was down. The app that runs my mouse was down.

What a stupid world.

Thanks to @reillypascal for an excellent solution with LinearMouse (https://linearmouse.app). The post has a workaround for missing gesture support and some other options I came across while being furious my mouse wasn't working.
