Idea: a compilation release of electronic music from trans musicians on fedi
tracks could be "donated" to the compilation with the premise being that the release itself would be available for free to download, with links and ways to support each artist given in the release info/description

i'm not sure of a good way to actually charge for the release and have the sales go to each artist easily. that seems like a bit of legistics nightmare.

this is just speaking if I were to spearhead/compile it

i'm not opposed to the idea

like, i genuinely do think it would be a rad thing to put together. it could be a fun passion project.

if i ended up putting it together i'd probably put it out via my An Ideal For Living microlabel bandcamp page.

Are there any trans electronic musicians on fedi that would be interested in donating a song (or two possibly) to a compilation (of trans electronic artists from fedi)?

(Please boost!)

@magicalgrrrl Sure I will and just to add if every artist is on one of the platforms like Bandcamp or mirlo one could split any revenue. But personally I would rather give any proceeds to a trans charity.
@magicalgrrrl I would love to contribute something to this.
@magicalgrrrl i’d certainly be in!
@magicalgrrrl preexisting songs or new? I have some electronic songs I could "donate" to the compilation (some entirely composed by me with no loops)
Some of them even have remastered versions where I cranked all the oversampling/quality settings high as possible in every plugin possible and exported at higher quality I could send depending on which one(s) you might want to use, as well as any metadata/info/supplementary stuff/anything you might need like artwork (including new assets if needed)
@erikaautumn it doesn't have to be a new song

@magicalgrrrl any special flavour of electronic

(i do noise/drone/no input. Usually electronic can mean anything).

@GubbiAnn any style is okay, i'd actually love if the compilation had a variety of styles
@magicalgrrrl well, where to send the stuff when the time comes? I would be happy if potential sales are donated to something everybody agrees..

@GubbiAnn i'm still trying to figure out the logicistics of how to sent them in.

i have been considering either having it be a free release, or the same as you were suggesting - have it go to a cause
