Chick.com: Dark Dungeons

Debbie thought playing Dungeons and Dragons was fun...until it destroyed her friend.

@Quasit i've been collecting a few lol
@AquaFan Me too! They seem to be a bit more rare these days. And it seems that most younger people haven't heard of them.
@Quasit i live in between two churches, and across the street from a third. collecting and disposing of religious propaganda in my neighborhood is a full time job

@AquaFan

Sounds kind of fun, actually! And getting free Chick tracts has got to be a bonus. I used to look up parodies of Chick tracts; there were some great ones out there. Including of Dark Dungeons!

@Quasit well, getting jumped regularly for being an atheist and a queer, a few knife fights here and there, occasionally threatened with a gun, takes it beyond the realm of "fun", but the chick tracts are funny
@AquaFan HOLY CRAP! Really? That's horrible! Would this be in the Southern United States, by any chance?
@Quasit nope, NYC. most conservative place i've ever been. i've lived all over the U.S. haven't spent too much time tin the south tho, just Atlanta and Florida...kinda want to go back to FL
@AquaFan No kidding? I didn't know! I grew up in the CT suburbs of NYC, and still have two friends who live there. I didn't know the city HAD conservative areas! Well other than Staten Island, of course.

@Quasit Staten Island is a myth. the Loch Ness Monster of NYC. we all just trust that it's out there in the water somewhere, there's some blurry photos floating around, but no one's ever seen it first-hand.

but conservative neighborhoods? most of NYC seems extremely conservative to me. i know there's a few ultra-wealthy neighborhoods in Manhattan with rainbow flags everywhere and stuff, but when you get into Queens, the Bronx, anywhere in Brooklyn other than Greenpoint; it's all extremely conservative (and Greenpoint is still pretty conservative, i saw a group of old guys grumble and get up and walk out of a McDonald's there when i walked in once, and people on the street always shout homophobic slurs at me & friends there, and that's the least conservative part of Brooklyn)

@AquaFan Now that I think of it, one of my friends in Brooklyn has written often about "stoop louts" in his neighborhood!
