@kathimmel Once again makes me low-key angry about how nobody seems to care systematically about the situation in Africa.

African lives are human lives…

@kathimmel But they're usually more subtle about regime change on behalf of oil/banana companies.

@kathimmel

Rather, it is what it should not be about...

History however...

@kathimmel

250+1 military invasions since end of WW2

@Paija2021 Jā, arī, bet ne tikai, skatīt abus pasaules karus un arī Auksto karu @kathimmel
@kathimmel Paldies par fav, bet Tu taču tiešām nelasi, ko Tev iekomentē, vai ne?
@Paija2021
@makpikts @Paija2021 i translated your comment & thought i understood that you were saying that the US had its hands in both world wars & the cold war. the 'like' was because i agree. were you saying something different?
@kathimmel Thank you for the effort. I was saying that the US did a lot of good in WW1, WW2 and Cold War.
@Paija2021
@makpikts @Paija2021 i didn't pick up on the 'good' part. obviously, when they finally joined the allies during WWII, their participation contributed to the downfall of the nazis. as for the cold war, the US did a lot of shit-stirring.
they're still at it, all over the globe.

@kathimmel I'm afraid that "obviously" your history is poor. Have some read on Fourteen Points for WW1 and on Lend-Lease for WW2. As for Cold War - despite all the wicked shit they did, they did defend Western Europe and, for some time after the Iron Curtain fell, also in the Eastern Europe; at the least, that's why I can talk to you.

@Paija2021

@[email protected] i'd have a conversation with you, but i doubt that it would be terribly elucidating. i don't like the condescending attitude i'm picking up from you, either. if you want to cheerlead for warmongers, i'm not your audience.
@kathimmel
Almost two months from this, and the flipping of the pages has become more frantic. #iran
@rolandog it is a maaaaaaassive fucking book, mind.
@kathimmel

I've been taking the opportunity to recommend that friends watch Alex Cox's _Walker_.

About one of the seven times the US has invaded Nicaragua.
@woody jamais vu. will have a look. thanks. :)

@kathimmel

The book Overthrow is a great reference.

@AlienAnomaly indeed. 384 pages doesn't seem sufficient, though. :)
@kathimmel America is what happens when one countries population of religious weirdos goes and forms their own country.
