For people who love to do #imperialism, these #Trumpezoids are remarkably bad at it. I can hardly imagine what Henry #Kissinger would have thought. The successful practice of empire requires stability and predictability — a sense that those who submit can actually avoid the very worst. It requires methodical planning, not lashing out. It also requires an air of invincibility — as opposed to things like bombing #Iran to no effect. (Remember THAT little adventure?)

With these bozos at the helm, the imperial ship of state has morphed into the Walloping Window Blind.

@dedicto ya know, i legit have no idea what kissenger would have thought about this. i mean, he was a nihilist but invading another country? i dunno

@emily_rugburn He wouldn't have opposed invasion and conquest on principle. His only principle was amoral realpolitik. But he would have understood that it was risky in the extreme, requiring a huge payoff to justify the risk. And the sheer INCOMPETENCE with which this particular adventure is being conducted would have fused his brain circuits. Similarly for the earlier adventure in bombing Iran. #Kissinger

He would also have realized that it was 2026, not 1926, and #WarForOil is less likely to be a winning strategy in the age of renewables than it would once have been.

@dedicto i really need to read more on game theory. this was a good response!
