Trump praised the military and highlighted National Guard deployments in U.S. cities, making erroneous claims about crime in Washington, D.C., Chicago and Los Angeles. Trump suggested that each U.S. strike on boats allegedly carrying drugs from Venezuela saves 25,000 American lives. However, the numbers don't add up. According to the CDC, drug overdose deaths in the U.S. are far fewer than the number Trump suggests. Additionally, Trump falsely claimed no killings in the nation's capital for six to seven months, despite recent homicides.
