Well the timelapse of the view out of our hotel window worked out pretty well. The timing was good, as it started shortly before sunset and continued just log enough into the night to capture the arrival of the snow that obscured the view. It's now snowing steadily.
Avoiding reflections is always an challenge when photographing through a window at night, but by far the biggest offender was the camera itself and it's stupid blinking red recording light on the front of the camera near the lens that doesn't synchronise itself to avoid lighting up while a timelapse frame is being taken.
My battles with window reflections continue. I managed to block the light from the recording indicator LED this time, but once the Sun rose I got reflections of the curtains instead. I had opened them, but obviously not far enough.

@spacelizard Kura (which isn't Sushiro, but similar) has expanded in the US recently. It's fun, but when we went to the Boulder one recently it was $70 USD for two people with a drink each.
We're very much looking forward to Hokkaido next month.

Can't see the Asahi Golden Poo from there?
Edit: now I see it! Way over to the right.
I recalled the Tokyo Skytower being much closer than it appears in your photos.
@spacelizard
You must be able to see the Denny's from there?
And....is it open?
