This Is My Glasgow

I love this statue of the Glaswegian broadcaster, writer, climber and all round outdoor enthusiast Tom Weir at Balmaha on the banks of Loch Lomond. Unveiled in 2014 to mark the centenary of his birth, it was created by the sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn.

@thisismyglasgow I lived in the same village as Tom, my young brother was taught by Tom's wife who was the head teacher at Gartocharn Primary School. Lovely people, Tom was a font of natural world knowledge, I learned a lot from him.
