@IrrationalMethod I've also been trying my old #Mindstorms set with my daughter a few weeks ago. The built in programs still worked. My IR sender seems to be broken, but maybe fixable. The connectors still work, but are in bad shape. Let me know if you have found a good method of protecting them. (Maybe taping is good enough?)

I guess you're aware of this project? http://webpbrick.com/

The author, @maehw, also has some valuable slides in German: https://www.luga.de/static/LIT-2024/assets/talks/20240420_LEGO_Mindstorms_RCX_reaktivieren__Entwick.pdf

@beta3 @IrrationalMethod IIRC, the BatteryPoweredBricks YouTube channel has a great repair video, it's probably: https://youtu.be/6kZhl7MPAhw — What IR towers do you use? The serial or the USB version? There's currently some translation to PTBR going on btw, or it rather needs to be merged. The reliability of the collection should still be increased... the current repo may also have broken things compared to the currently released version on webpbrick.com — so there's still work to do

@maehw @IrrationalMethod That's interesting, thanks! I have the IR tower with a serial port. The 9V battery ran out and I hope that it just doesn't work because I haven't cleaned it properly yet.
@maehw @beta3 @IrrationalMethod yes nice video, there is a lot of stuff to hack around lego electrical parts.
