In many ways 2025 was hard: it kicked off with Charlie getting severe whiplash in January, our landlord sold our flat and gave us 2 months notice, we got horrible flu twice and a couple of the cats needed expensive dental surgery. But it was still the best year of my life because @SaintlySin and I got married, the wedding itself was beautiful and marrying her was the best thing I've ever done. And being together made all the tough bits easier.

Hoping for a calmer 2026 though.

@afewbugs @SaintlySin - what a lovely happy photograph! Congratuations!
@afewbugs @SaintlySin Aww. Boo to all the horrible stuff, but big congratulations for wedding. That's a gorgeous happy photo
@afewbugs @SaintlySin sorry about the crap stuff thrown your way but yay re marriage. Congrats and best wishes both.

@afewbugs @SaintlySin

soooo lovely. and what a beautiful high point to the year. much goodness to you both (and the cats!) for a wonderful, happy, and healthy 2026

@afewbugs @SaintlySin

So sorry about all the negative things this past year. And a double hurrah on the positives (well except for the flu positive of course but you get what I mean)

Congratulations once more on your wedding, and may the next year indeed a calmer year.

And also on getting that weird rotate button fixed/removed on our phone

@Aprazeth @SaintlySin thank you (and here's hoping for finally vanquishing that bastard button!)

@afewbugs @SaintlySin
You are welcome.

And ooh it shall be done (hopefully)

@afewbugs
It was great to see photos of a very different wedding from normal and I wish you both the best.

We did things differently (although cis) and it's our 10th next year.

@afewbugs
One thing that amused me was the amount of taxi drivers getting lost on the way to our reception (on an industrial estate) and betted the fare that there was no wedding around there... Until they turned round the back of some buildings, found it and went "fuck me". They didn't make that mistake for the return journeys, but they all knew what was going on by then anyway.
@SaintlySin
@jamesb @SaintlySin we basically had an official taxi driver, the same guy ended up taking us, Charlie's parents and my parents to the registry office (it's possible Cannock only has one taxi driver)
@afewbugs It's also possible that Cannock has no taxi drivers and you just accosted a random member of the public who happened to be driving a Skoda Octavia
@SaintlySin
@afewbugs @jamesb he was the loveliest bloke as well! He took us to my parents the night before and picked us up as well! Every time we saw him we cheered "ALI!!!!!!" and he smiled. He was so pleased to be part of it all, absolutely top bloke. If you are ever in that neck of the woods and need a taxi, contact Corkys cabs and ask for Ali!
