What follows is a thread about a #train travel from #Sevilla to #Rotterdam
This journey was not really planned, and we booked everything last minute. Due to some (not serious) health issues, it wouldn't be wise to fly, but we need to get back home by the 31st.
We will take an #AVA ( #renfe ) to #Barcelona on the 28th; we stay there two nights (there is no train connection on the 29th) and will take a #tgv to #Paris. From there we have a connection ( #Eurostar ) to #Rotterdam.

#OsmAnd was not amused by the idea, and for some reason didn't want to calculate the route within #France , so I had to add extra points. This is more or less what the roue looks like. (The calculated time is off; in total it would be around 17 hours of pure travelling time.)

Smooth boarding at #SantaJusta #Sevilla
Premium tickets are not cheap, but Confort class is quite nice. We couldn't select the menu via the app and the information about the lunch is (for me) confusing, so I am curious how this works.

We are about halfway to #Barcelona . The sun is shining and we just got a glass of cava so there is no reason to complain, except the headrest. It is just not possible to get it at the right height, and after 3 hours it became a major annoyance.
The lunch mistery is solved, there is a menu with 3 options.

Within 40 minutes we will reach #Barcelona .
It is not easy to take a good (or at least acceptable) picture form the train. If it is not obvious, my aim was to show the sea between the mountains.

There must be a reason to have people standing in the line for around 20 minutes and then let them all go at once. In any case, that's the method the staff of #inoui have chosen at Barcelona-Sants. Otherwise smooth boarding and comfortable (huge) chairs on the #tgv to #Paris Gare de Lyon.

About halfway into the first (the longest) part of the trip. In around 3 hours, we reach #Paris Gare de Lyon. The last stop in #Spain was Figueres-Vilafant, where the boards at the station look really #metal 🤘

Getting from Gare de Lyon to Gare du Nord was not easy. First, you need to find the right entrance to the correct line. In our instance, it was RER D (North), and the experience was akin to navigating a labyrinth with an abundance of signs indicating different directions while individuals were adrift. Eventually, we managed to get on the right train.

Home sweet home.

In conclusion, #renfe is the best provider from the ones we used during this trip, and it is not possible to catch a taxi at Gare de Lyon to save time. The line was extremely long at the station. :)
