The trip on the vehicle #Ferrry to the #IsleOfWight from #Southampton takes just an hour. Although we were #pedestrian passengers, we opted for this one since its destination is #EastCowes. The faster passenger-only ferry takes only half as long but docks at #WestCowes on the opposite side of the #estuary.

It was quite a rainy day when we were going and you can see the distorted image out of the front window of the vessel owing to the water on the glass. Despite the weather, the journey was smooth and punctual.
@mkwadee We went on the hovercraft earlier this year - mainly because we've never been on it in our faulty memories.
I much preferred the ferry back to Lymington.
@MikeFromLFE I didn't even know hovercraft operated these days. I went on one to the continent many moons ago.
@mkwadee yes, it's the world's last public hovercraft service. Southsea to Ryde, quick, fairly reliable, and incredibly noisy!
@MikeFromLFE I'm quite sad that they've gone the way of the dodo. I thought the technology was exciting.
