@mikeege My favorite way to each #DungenessCrab has always been the "lazy man way" -- steamed & cracked open with utensils at the ready & with cubed sourdough bread & a bowl of grated ginger & salt in oil on the side -- and I always eat the guts (aka the "butter" of the crab with a spoon as soon as the shell is cracked open. I also always open a bottle of sparkling wine to drink with the meal as well.

However, my father was a cook at #FishermanGrotto9 in the 50's & I'm sure he made a #CrabLouie more than a few times -- before he moved onto #Ondines & #Spinaker in Sausalito, then to the #FairmontHotel & then the #GrandHyattAtUnion Square where he finally retired as a #SousChef -- but he never made it at home.

We always just ate it the "lazy" way. Why bother going to all that trouble to add competing flavors to the crab when the crab alone is so delicious? 🤷‍♂️
