AWESOME!

My phone has less than half battery and it has decided it won't charge anymore!

No computer; about to have no phone, my last little anchor to sanity.

Guess I'll die!

(Nice knowing ya, everyone!)

Hey, Chat. I'm still here, at 49% charge. #AskFedi

I've been able to charge it a bit here and there, no idea why or how. The ritual seemed to be "turn it off and on" and then it would charge some? But that's not working right now.

I checked the outlet, and the cable and charger work for a Bluetooth headset I have, so I'm guessing the phone is starting to crap out.

If for some miracle, it charges again, I'll have to keep it plugged in forever.

Boosts appreciated.

*The planets align and the phone charges again*

Me, looking at the cable: WE LIVE HERE, NOW!

(No, for real. I'm NOT unplugging it ever again. I don't care if I'm told "it's bad for the battery" I'm riding this for however long my phone has left to live)

@Yuriel Hello
@retrosponge Wow, what the hell? I leave for like a day and a half and you've already made monsignor? 🤣 (And converted to Catholicism, apparently, 'cause Catholics don't have reverends 🤭)
@Yuriel I just want to take confession and hear all the saucy stories.😂

@Yuriel some things you might try: download Ampere (if you use android). It should give you an idea of how the cable is working (if you move the cable around and it stops / starts charging, it's probably the cable)

You can try cleaning the charging port

If your phone has Qi charging, you can try that as well

@SnyperWolf @Yuriel of the cable is good is it possible the solder points on the USB port on the phone are cracked and failing?

@SnyperWolf The cable seems to work fine, as does the charger. Moving it around doesn't affect it and it plugs in firmly (not loose)

I don't have anything that's not metal (like toothpicks) to try cleaning it. And if Qi means wireless, it's not compatible. It's an old Galaxy A20s.

@Yuriel @SnyperWolf

Ooh, this is a bit bad-techie for me to say but you can usually get away with using a shirt pin to dig for impacted fluff.

@Yuriel check the charging port on your phone for lint or obstructions
@LockEx I've been told that but I have no idea what to use besides toothpicks that's safe. (Metal isn't, it seems)
@Yuriel We'll miss you.

@Gulleko I'll miss all of you.

(Even the annoying ones. 🤭)

@Yuriel @Gulleko I've been summoned. Also 😩 hope you get sorted soon
@Yuriel Hope you get back soon. ❤️
