Thinking about setting up a KVM. I'm sick of rearranging my rack everytime I need to access a server...

Any KVM switch recomendations? And has anyone tried #pikvm

@watchfulcitizen Depends on your video output requirements but I set up one of these and have been pretty happy with it. I keep a keyboard and monitor in my server area so it makes it easy.

@shroudedscribe that looks really nice, I thought about that first but figured I'd go with HDMI to future proof
@watchfulcitizen I'm using a JetKVM, so far happy with it. #jetkvm
@bmarinov nice! Its between that and pikvm right now
@watchfulcitizen pikvm works great, I can recommend it.
@Tywele yeah I'm thinking that combined with some kind of KVM switch
@watchfulcitizen PiKVM works over the browser you don’t necessarily need a KVM switch
@Tywele yeah I know the goal was more to use it with multiple servers without having a individual KVM for each
@watchfulcitizen Yes, with great success. If it helps, I wrote it up: https://codeberg.org/fishd/diy-pikvm

A short write up of how I assembled an IP KVM using off-the-shelf hardware and the PiKVM open-source software.

@Fishd this is amazing! Are you happy with that switch?

@watchfulcitizen Yeah, works well enough and the price was ok.

My next stage is to get the whole thing mounted in a 10 inch rack, I might need to rework some components to get the cabling working well.
