I put on my "reading" glasses, and it was nice to look at my screen and not have to deal with only looking through the bottom because of the progressive lenses.

Then I tried to read something, but had to hold it at arm's length. 🤔 weird.

Then I got up to let the dog out and noticed that _everything_ was in focus.

I tried reading something else, and again had to hold it as far away as possible.

🤦‍♀️ these are distance glasses, and I have no idea where my reading glasses are. Do I own any?

Because memory issues, I don't know if there was a fuck-up during the ordering process, or if I even own reading glasses in my current prescription.

The thing is, I can't figure out why I'd buy distance glasses that weren't sunglasses. Distances are fine with my progressive lenses.

@masukomi
You can always ask them if you can get them to add the coating and they might look at the order and apologise?
@EndlessMason alas, the problem is that i need reading glasses not distance sunglasses.

@masukomi
Oh. Not ideal.

Can you... Walk further away from the thing you're trying to read? Maybe this advice only works then other way round?

@EndlessMason they start being effective at the very end of my outstretched arm. However, when I am looking at a physical object, that means the text on it has become very small and hard to read because it is so far away. It is clear, but it is small.

I can compensate for this at my desk by making the font bigger, but I have to sit uncomfortably far away from the desk and it makes it harder to rest my arms

I just need to use my progressive lenses

@masukomi
Yeah, if i had progressive / bifocals the close half would be nothing... Which means paying more to get less prescription lense... Not a great deal.
