@itsfoss CachyOS
@myoongitis @itsfoss Just installed this onto my laptop. It replaced Garuda Linux, which was causing me some general grief.
@itsfoss Debian is my daily driver -- server and desktop -- sincer1998...
@itsfoss
TuxedoOs. And Nobara. I keep switching between the 2 ๐Ÿ˜…
@bluewitch @itsfoss how is TuxedoOS, never tried it, why the switching? :)
@alyx
The switching because I have trouble deciding on a distro. That issue is with me, less with the distros.

I have a 3-monitor-setup, that nobara just works better on.
But tuxedo is debian-based, and I know my way much better around there. It took me quite some time to warm up to it for no logical reason. Then an update bricked it, I stubbornly reinstalled nobara, and suddenly began to miss tuxedo.
Not sure if this is helping you any. ๐Ÿ˜…

I can tell you that both use KDE, both are recommended for gaming, and both do their job there quite well.

@itsfoss
@bluewitch @itsfoss I see, thanks for the reply! I used Nobara a lot and love Thomas Criders work, but always got into problems with the updater after a while.. Tuxedo seems interesting, I like the Ubuntu base, will give it a try.
Linux mint like every year. Will be replaced once the LTS runs out with an atomic OS. Hopefully KDE
@itsfoss CachyOS, Never thought that I ever switch from a ubuntu-based distribution. Setting everything for gaming with one click. Steam just works.
@itsfoss -- My daily Linux drivers in 2025: Mint (Cinnamon) and Mx Linux (Xfce)
@itsfoss not linux distro but FreeBSD is my new daily drive OS
@itsfoss currently running Mint and Fedora KDE
@itsfoss
Bluefin has been my comfort distro

@itsfoss

Finally moved from Win11 to Kubuntu (25.04 and then 25.10)

@itsfoss I switched from Kubuntu to NixOS. I needed something different and to be able to admin for my family on an ongoing basis.

With a code repo to store and manage config and a homegrown deployment script it's really been a great step up.

@itsfoss Came back to Gentoo this year. Havin' a blast.
@itsfoss My on-the-go daily driver is #postmarketOS
@itsfoss
Still running EDIT: driving Ubuntu Studio.
@itsfoss
Been running Debian for about a year now.

@itsfoss

@AerynOS . A Rust-based package manager with atomic update system that suits me very well.

@itsfoss Gentoo's been my daily driver for around 8 years now.
@itsfoss I switched to Mint after being on Ubuntu for several years. I loaded Mint onto an old laptop to use for debugging embedded devices at work. That gave me the chance to experience the ease-of-use Mint has over regular Ubuntu. That motivated me to put Mint on my home desktop as well.

@itsfoss I switched from macOS to #Kubuntu LTS on my intel iMac.

Not going back. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am so mad at Apple right now.

@itsfoss

CachyOS - Desktop. Ubuntu - Server (though I'm planning on switching to Debian).

@itsfoss Used Windows 10 until I couldn't anymore. Jumped to Fedora and became very happy, but then reports came in of Fedora and AI, so then I switched to LMDE. Still happy. Playing Diablo 2 and Winamp through Crossover.
@itsfoss Since forever debian, mobile sfos since 2013.
@itsfoss I have many computers. Linux Mint, Fedora 43, Debian, HAOS are the OSes that are used regularly.
@itsfoss
Linux Mint (was on Ubuntu before, Mint feels like the better Ubuntu). I considered and tried CachyOS, but didn't like it.

Archlinux

@zloy @itsfoss
Where is "I use Arch BTW"

Your comment is invalid...

@itsfoss nixos, but honestly, fedora/vanillaos is probably better
@itsfoss
Zorin OS
But not in 2025
@itsfoss Manjaro, since mid-2024. It just works so well. ๐Ÿฅน
@itsfoss Started with LMDE, hopped to Pop!_OS, then moved over to EndeavourOS, and finally made a home on Manjaro.
@itsfoss MX Linux KDE 23 then upgraded to 25.
@itsfoss Arch and Debian ๐Ÿ˜Ž
@itsfoss I've been using dual boot of #ubuntu and #gentoolinux for a year in my #slimbook . (Sharing firefox and thunderbird profiles, nextcloud and zotero between installations)
I hadn't used gentoo since I was twenty and I was afraid
And now I have just removed ubuntu! Full time gentoo now
@itsfoss switched from openSUSE Leap to Garuda, snapshots ftw when experimenting ๐Ÿ˜‚
@itsfoss Fedora. Has been for years and likely to continue.
@itsfoss Fedora, Nobara, TuxedoOS, ZorinOS Linux Mint. ๐Ÿ˜„โœŒ๐Ÿผ
@itsfoss Kubuntu (first time switching, after around 17 years with Ubuntu).
