Merry Christmas, bsd.cafe! 🎄

I’m looking for some brutal honesty to help shape the future of Parch Linux.

Beyond the hype and the "shiny new things," what actually makes a distro livable day after day? I’m looking for solid, battle-tested opinions on what constitutes a good system when the novelty wears off.

If you could architect the "perfect" daily driver based purely on reliability and workflow, what acts as the foundation?

@sohrab from my perspective it is " don't break things and get in the way of the established workflow".

We each have our own workflow so opinionated changes usually break workflows for people which is bad.

@sohrab It would likely change depending on who you ask. For me, simplicity and reliability/predictablity (eschewing churn) take top priority. I don't want things moving around. I don't want keyboard short-cuts to stop working or do new things. I want the commands I typed last time to work the next time I type them. I don't want Artificial Intelligence trying to second-guess my Human Intelligence. I don't want things that worked yesterday to stop working today.
