It is time for my annual masochistic practice known as "renewing my ISACA membership".

I complained about this last year, someone from #ISACA reached out, saw where I have repeatedly opened tickets (unanswered) with them about how trash the renewal process is, and told me how to get engaged with them to fix it. Then, a couple of months ago, I received an email saying I would not be chosen to help them fix their trash technology and trash process. That they invited me to help them fix.

I've been an ISACA member for nearly 18 years at this point--Platinum membership in their parlance. This renewal process plus the trash way they do their FREE CPE-earning webinars (similarly excessive checkout process with tax address & shipping address pages) is tempting me to #cancel my ISACA membership.

So far this renewal...

1) I've been asked for a billing address for tax purposes. (legit, but relevant on the next screen)

2) I was asked for a shipping information...

2a) Shipment receiver name. (they have my name; nothing is being shipped)

2b) Phone number for shipping purposes. (nothing is being shipped)

2c) Shipping address. For one, I already gave you an address in No. 1 above; but also THERE IS NOTHING TO SHIP TO ME!

3) I switched to Google Chrome. The main page took >30 seconds to load. The login page took >90 seconds to load. Subsequent pages have been acceptable, but still >5 second load times.

4) Going through the same flow, I WAS PRESENTED WITH AN EXTRA PAGE. A consent page that I didn't get on Firefox!!! What is this insanity?

5) Going through the same flow, the shipping address page was not included, meaning there's somehow A DIFFERENT FLOW FOR FIREFOX VS CHROME??? Someone tell them that's not how web dev is supposed to work.

6) There is a number combo box. It has both up and down arrows on the right side of it. That traditionally means that I can click those arrows to increment/decrement the number. Nope, it just opens the combo box.
