@Tutanota geek tip from me: How NOT to see AI images.

Enjoy your holidays 🎉

Ditto. Kagi is building their own AI garbage, and they're sketchy as heck. Don't give them your money!

@pip @lukasz @kagihq @Tutanota

Can you elaborate on Kagi’s sketchiness? I’ve been considering using their search, and the small web project they run is cool.

@alatartheblue They don't seem to understand simple concepts like PII (they have stated before that email addresses aren't PII) or business finance (they just didn't bother to collect sales tax early on). They also don't seem to listen to the community very much.

I thought this was a pretty good read on the topic: https://d-shoot.net/kagi.html

Issues with Kagi's AI focus, finances and leadership

@pip

Hmm. An interesting read. Not sure how much I agree / disagree, but good to have the perspective.

@alatartheblue @pip

FWIW, I've heard that kagi was an AI company from the very beginning. I can't elaborate past that, though. (I guess that was enough for me to not be terribly interested)

@lukasz who promotes LLMs on first page?

@Tutanota THX! Merry Christmas

@Tutanota Yes that list is great! ❤️

If anyone needs help on how to install it, here is a step by step guide:

This is a somewhat (or even mostly) useless list. It just filters AI "features" and websites from search engine results. It does nothing for the sites you use every day, like social media and news, that are littered with AI content.

If you use the same search engine, and you generally don't visit random sites on a regular basis, especially obvious AI ones, then this list will do pretty much nothing for your browsing experience.

Also, I see that it has a specific user/artwork on Artstation. This is good. However, what if the list blocks someone you follow who posts 99% human content and occasionally posts some "AI-assisted" content?

Something to think about.

These lists are convenient, but it is convenience that got us to (the bad place) where we are today.

@Tutanota - > thx!!
@bub4don It's our pleasure. 😎
@Tutanota ... thanks - the robots were starting to win. 🤖 LOL🤖
@Tutanota
Boosted and bookmarked!
(ublock origin no Ai list.)

@Tutanota Thanks!

As to those complaining about AI in their social media, stop following people that use it!

@darwinwoodka @Tutanota

That's not how mainstream social media works. In order to not see either rampant or occasional AI on mainstream social media, the only thing you can do is not use mainstream social media at all.

Instagram infects your "Following" feed with ads and recommendations. Twitter doesn't do this, but if you use lists, you will see them, and the moment you click Explore/For You, you are likely to see them.

Also, the non-artists you follow may post/repost them too.

@Tutanota Do you have any tips for how NOT to see furries?

@Tutanota

Do you have a HUGE LUDDITE BLOCKLIST for uBlock Origin too?

@Tutanota

@kagihq 's AI slop filters also work really well so you can actually do image search without being bombarded with ai images
