@cathill One is more popular than the other and also the art industry has embraced it, while neglecting the other. I bet if the art industry started making a lot more money from photocopy art, its artistic credibility would sky-rocket.

@amca Apparently, there used to be an "International Society of Copier Artists" (ISCA). Not sure why it was discontinued.

@cathill Technical drawing was never an art form, although drawing often is.
Sitting on a photocopier is not _good_ art, but falls into Sturge9n's Law.
Collage with repeated photocopies or parts of copies is potentially good art, I can't think of an example.

In brief: intention and expression.
