About 6 months ago I moved from OneDrive to #Nextcloud, and, honestly, it exceeded my expectations. Easy setup, smooth daily use, and in some respects clearly better.

It makes me wonder about the dependence on proprietary clouds for personal use 🤔. Is it just inertia and familiarity?

Added bonus: Nextcloud comes with WebDAV. Setting it up as a storage backend for #Zotero is trivial. My Zotero library is now always with me. It just works. 🥳 #openSource

@ecodiv it's inertia, familiarity, free-as-in-beer-ness and I-already-have-an-account-ness, and some network effect too.

@mdione Another related factor is about what is already being used at work, and people being reluctant to adopt yet another solution or risk compatibility issues. And honestly, that is something I can sympathise with, especially the latter.
