European holly (#Ilex aquifolium) freshly harvested from the hedge.

No berries because it’s 6 months out of season in this hemisphere and also they’re poisonous.

It was difficult to find again in the hedge this year because the invasive pest on the left and the escaped foreign pest on the right and the creeping weed below are strangling it out.

I took my daughter along and she asked where the original hedge is, given that it’s so strangled by such a wide variety of weeds. I did find a tiny twig of the original sticking out.

Not my hedge, fortunately, it’s the farmer’s.
