Christ the Good Shepherd flanked by angels holding Instruments of the Passion, by Hugh Arnold for Powell & Sons, 1902 at Great Tey, Essex. Arnold had been a pupil of Christopher Whall and then worked for Powells before setting up on his own, but he would be killed on the Western Front in 1915.
2/2 Angels by Harry Stammers for Powell & Sons at Bessingham, Norfolk, 1932. I love the idea that Hugh Arnold, a pupil of Christopher Whall born in 1872, and Stammers who was still producing glass into the 1960s, were both part of the ongoing tradition at Powells. #AdventAngels
