@thejapantimes 🤔 As a man, and also somewhat a fan of #Japan's #sumo, I've to say that this commentary didn't shock, but neither did it convince. More crucially, it seems to me that, when the custodians of this #subculture can't find an inherently convincing argument for sumo to continue its increasingly awkward #misogynistic practices, they defer to linguistic gymnastics by a foreigner instead. It's unbelievable and quite sad.🤦‍♂️
