@Tutanota @volla Most important: control for the user, not the producer!
@Tutanota @volla security updates for a long time. features are nice but having the peace of mind that my phone is going to be secure and updated for a good amount of time is just awesome
@riiku @Tutanota @volla Yes, updates for the technical lifetime of the hardware is a very good idea. Forgot to mention that in my response.

@riiku @Tutanota @volla And notvto forget operating time with the battery.

My Xperia XZ2 Premium I also use as a 4K video camera where some material is used in promo videos and a documentary on a Blu-ray.

@Tutanota @volla A privacy first experience.
@Tutanota @volla Peace of mind! The freedom to communicate without fear :-)
@Tutanota @volla privacy and control!
@volla @Tutanota

By far, the most important part for me is digital freedom.
I don't like being told what to do with the devices I bought and own.
This is why I run Linux and my phone is jailbroken.
This is why I use the Fediverse.
This is why I'm a Tuta subscriber.

I own my devices. I make my rules.
@Tutanota @volla To just use my phone without having to think about if google reads alongk

@Tutanota @volla

Most important: Good customer service!

#Thanks for sharing this cool offer.

!

@Tutanota @volla Access to key Android applications without giving all my data to Google
@Tutanota @volla a phone where I am not the product!

@Tutanota @volla

A further step towards self-empowerment (and less dependency on big tech)

@Tutanota @volla Privacy, privacy, privacy!
@Tutanota @volla Keeping me and my contact safe from prying eyes!

@Tutanota @volla

no Tracking, no Ads, security

@Tutanota @volla
- Privatsphäre
- Unabhängigkeit
- Selbstbestimmtes Handeln

@Tutanota @volla

The most important thing to me is that the software be open-source.

@Tutanota @volla like almost everyone, privacy and no data mining
@Tutanota
confidence that something isn't siphoning my data in the background
@volla
@Tutanota @volla Accessible bootloader with no strings, account requirements, wait times, online codes, etc.
Own the software, own the hardware.
@Tutanota App compatibility ^^'
@Tutanota @volla
Стремление людей к безопасности хорошо капитализируется.
@Tutanota @volla the most important thing is that a de-googled phone remains nearly as usable as a regular one in everyday life
@Tutanota @volla Mainline Linux (or close-to) OS, and specifically NOT an AOSP fork. Also made in EU.
@Tutanota @volla Full control over my phone hardware and software

@Tutanota @volla

Getting software updates long into the future so I can make it last.

@Tutanota @volla

Privacy & Control like:
Own my phone!

@Tutanota @volla Nooooo tracking, no ads - just freedom!

@Tutanota Well, it certainly doesn't include the exorbitant price of the device, just because "privacy is paramount." Seriously! Someone there really went totally crazy with those prices! What's so expensive about the phone that it's so jaw-droppingly expensive overall? The Swarovski-encrusted, gold-plated casing? These phones are not so wonderful that they should charge customers such prices for them. Dear creators, come down to earth. Otherwise, a dog with a lame leg won't buy this.🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

@volla

@Tutanota @volla The ability to sideload any software I want.
@Tutanota @volla I take privacy as a given on a phone that focuses on that, so the most important is to be able to use it for essential activities such as banking and authentication.
@Tutanota @volla that I have full control over my phone and big tech cannot tell me what's good for me or what is best for me. I decide and that is what my phone has to show.
@Tutanota @volla not giving anyone my private data.
@Tutanota @volla
Lack of surveillance is quite important.
Thanks
@Tutanota @volla Functioning native apps without trackers, preferably on something other than aosp.

@Tutanota @volla I guess we all want the Fairphone (repairability) with GrapheneOS (security), but most important would be long software updates (and a not too hard way to exchange spare parts).

Great to have another independent manufacture on the market!

@Tutanota @volla
Sharing used to be a privilege. Now it's theft and profit driven. I went to Linux to escape vendor lock in. Now I have to fight to just use services without demand on my data.
They're my thoughts and experiences, I'll share them because I want to, not because I have to.
@Tutanota @volla Convenience without tracking.
@Tutanota @volla meine Privatsphäre und Unabhängigkeit von Konzernen ist mir Wichtig.

@Tutanota @volla running a vanilla mainline linux kernel

pinephone (pro) and librem were close. and op6 and fairphone has had a lot of work put into them for a close to mainline linux phone as well

@Tutanota @volla I think not having data collection background services is really important. Not only will degoogling get rid of these, it helps save battery life and electricity
@Tutanota @volla More control of what data leaves the device.
@Tutanota @volla Putting my money where my mouth is and supporting alternatives - including Tuta!

@Tutanota @volla

I guess the most important thing is Software Compatibility with Apps that assume you have Google services installed.

@Tutanota
Privacy and freedom. I use it as I want to.
@volla
@Tutanota @volla to have a device that's mine and serves me, not a data collector for big tech
@Tutanota @volla
Most important:
- Privatsphäre
- Gute Akkulaufzeit
- Sicherheitsupdates über einen langen Zeitraum
@Tutanota @volla My Tuta mail of course!
@Tutanota @volla Not having to see "disabled" (and unistallable) Google apps somehow still collecting user data when I look in my storage settings. What's that about?
@Tutanota @volla
Most important to me is a lack of Google spyware in the OS

@Tutanota @volla

Most important is control over what apps and components are installed on device. Ideal is to be able to rebuild OS from source.
