While I certainly have musical preferences and odd things I enjoy, I spent the day pondering if there was something I just default judge.
I tend to be more focused on individual content/lyrics, so that's the area where disinterest is most likely for me.

Then I realized.

Kidz Bop.

I just can't even. You're gonna turn real songs into stripped down synth elevator music because you think that's what makes it kid friendly?
It's the musical equivalent of baby talk

@lucyruthe Kidz Bopz are...unsettling. They don't care about the lyrics and just have kids singing. Like...they did a cover of Hinder's infidelity ballad Lips of an Angel and...yea, barely edited the lyrics. It's creepy.

@mdmrn

They don't even prioritize the lyrics edit when they pick a non-kid sorta song? I get brain melt hearing that stuff, so I don't leave it on enough to explore.

I think the kids singing part legitimately appeals to young children. It's that "relate to the representation" piece.
But everything else about it feels like fake packaging. In that bargain bin plastic culture sorta way.
