@iFixit oar wirenuts... ffs.
@iFixit your alt texts are assigned to the wrong pictures.
@jaykass @iFixit came here to say this also.
@iFixit Why not just using a new bulb? Just shorting one decreases the lifetime of all the others.
@juergen @iFixit This should not be understated. It will cause more current through the remaining bulbs, those will burn out, until the main fuse in the plug itself fails.
@iFixit Why are you putting the wires into pen caps? This may be fine under American stone age electrical code but please don't do this anywhere else in the world. This is bad advice.
@hisold @iFixit is that a different term for wire nuts?
@iFixit Mine are all LED
@LordCaramac @iFixit I have a bunch of older strings of incandescents and don't really want to use them much. Hm.
@iFixit It’s not that I don’t know how, it’s that I can’t freaking get the bulbs out of the %!?%! sockets. I have spent ages on it sometimes and it’s just hard. I don’t want to throw away stuff and make it waste. But Sunday afternoons during the holiday season are valuable!
