And thanks to #swayFX, I can apply background blur to pretty much anything I want. >:3
Have to say, I'm a bit disappointed that waybar seems completely text-based instead of offering at least some simple dataviz (no, dynamically chosen unicode block chars don't count).
But at least its support for that weird gtk-css means I can use min-width to avoid elements constantly jumping around due to differences in string lengths… :F
