01 - Oldest OC?
Thaddeus Agen. I stumbled upon an RP forum in high school and did the obvious thing: create a shonen protag based on my username. There wasn't much to him besides being very short and having a sword bigger than he is, but an OC is an OC!
This drawing is from 2010, a few years after I wrote him up. Should I redraw him?
02 - Newest OC
Evelyn! I designed her around last Christmas because I wanted to try working with a more chubby body type.
She works at a library near AD-HOC and uses some of the services of the facility. She actually curates the library's restricted adult content, and is a huge nerd about pornography actors and works.
3/4 - Favorite OC/OC Design
I'll answer 3 and 4 together here~
Twin Princesses Mary and Sue originally started as an exercise to create the most Mary-Sue characters possible and make them GOOD. Me and my friends also ended up creating an RP setting around them where all the overpowered characters live. Their designs are lavish and unique without being overbearing, and their extreme personalities (Sexy Mary and Mysterious Sue) make them very fun to write for.
05 - Why do you create OCs?
It really depends on what the OC is for!
1 - for fun: most of my early OCs I pieced together details for after doodling them randomly. Many of these later got story roles.
2 - for story: writing a webcomic means I sometimes need new characters! About half the cast of AD-HOC was made to fill out roles or explore other monster girl types.
3 - for RP: I do a lot of tabletop and text RP with friends, which sometimes involves inventing new goobers for fun and story.
06 - OC creation process?
Usually I'll start with a doodle or concept and come up with more personality and background via RP or something later.
For tabletop characters, I usually tend towards making a goofball or himbo, because I find them fun to act as.
For story characters and monster girls, I put a lot of thought into the culture behind the original myths, and their depictions throughout history. Sometimes they're even inspired by science and zoology!
07 - Do you ship your OCs w/ someone else's?
As part of an RP group, I actually can't seem to stop doing that~!
Here's Princess Mary with Icicle Gleam, an OC of my friend Glaive. He basically became an honorary citizen of her country after they got together. For now, Mary sets aside the existential crisis of dating as an immortal and enjoys the moment~
