Huge #OrangeShirt #memorial to honour all the native kids' lives lost in the cruel #ResidentialSchool system.
On the site of one of the worst in Canada - #Namgis territory, #AlertBay. It was called St. Michael's Indian Residential School. It was demolished in 2015. #Umista Cultural Center sits on the old site. #Indigenous peoples have reclaimed their land there & are trying to heal from colonial abuses.

We have racists in #Canada who are currently dishonouring the victims of residential schools by denying survivors' histories & saying mass graves are a lie. This is so wrong. We owe the ones who died & the living survivors support & reparations. Please don't let folks use denialism around you - confront them & stand up for the victims & survivors.

Mstdn.ca has a white guys #racist problem.
@PhoenixSerenity I blocked in solidarity. When I searched I couldn't find any part of the thread. Not sure if the comments were deleted. I try and support POC in my timeline as much as I can. I
@kellyromanych I wouldn't be surprised if the racist turd deleted his own comments - after I publicized his racism. Older conservative, former military, IT bigots are cowards & they avoid accountability for their own shitty actions. Typical wankerbutternoodles.
@kellyromanych I know you're a comrade. I always know when someone is making efforts or simply doing shallow white saviour, self serving BS.
@kellyromanych I really appreciate the solidarity block too!

I post things like this because truth, justice & reconciliation is important to me & my POC comrades. Many of us were displaced due to colonial abuses/colonial violence & we support the Indigenous peoples in BC & Canada because we understand their fights for justice very well. We understand & can empathize with the ongoing racism faced when trying to obtain justice too.

When racism fuckers - replyguys/replygals jump on my awareness posts, like some Conservative white wankerbutternoodle did above in comments - I don't stop posting. I publicize their BS bigotry. I request folks to block the racist bigots - whether folks do so or not is their decision. Not blocking racist jerks sends loud messages to POC folks - even if you say nothing - we notice who opts to keep interacting online with racist bigots & you stain yourself.

#ZeroTolerance zone for #ResidentialSchool #denialism. Zero tolerance for anyone trying to justify the unjustifiable #CrimesAgainstHumanity committed by #Canada.

Fuck the #Whitewash.
I won't be civil towards #racist turds.
Fuck you, if you expect civility towards people OK with ongoing #racism. #RedLine

#ShoutOut to #Canadian bigot - [email protected] - for helping to boost my awareness post about residential schools abuses/murders that he is OK publicly denying ✌️ Thanks, wankerbutternoodle, for your public racism 💩
Thanks to everyone who is boosting my original post on residential schools awareness & how we need to support victims/survivors.

@PhoenixSerenity I think the thing that mostly pisses me off about denialism about the residential schools is that there is literally living memory of them still, and not even by exceptionally old people. This school closed in 1975 and there were some open until the 1990s. There are indigenous people my age that were forcefully relocated.

But atrocity denial comes quickly, I guess.

@lerxst Exactly! I have several residential school survivor friends & they deserve support, not to be attacked/told that they're liars. They survived living hells & many lost multiple family members to Canada's cultural genocide. I am not OK with anyone who is OK with the denialism. I will fight for the victims gone & the living survivors.
