It looks reddish in flight due to the brown body; when settled the green eyes are the key feature. Males use their coloured wings in display flights to impress females; the two Demoiselle species are the only UK odonata that do this (most dragons & damsels just grab first and ask questions later). Day 12 of the 2025 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. White-legged Damselfly lives in slow-flowing rivers. This one was by the Thames at #Goring in June.
