@John 1&1/2 hours in and looking good! 1 hour 2 go. Fingers crossed.

@John extra 1/2 hour in the oven (probably from lower cooking temp). Used thermometer to test doneness (so if i've overdone it, will know next time to go for lower internal temp). Looks good though. Looking forward to a taste after it cools.

@John just had a taste. Good cake. And it was easy. Next time will try a different juice. Handy for serving to folks avoiding animal products and alcohol (both of which are in the version i make). So thanks for sharing.

Not sure i'll give up my regular boiled fruitcake recipe yet though. Think i'd have a family rebellion in the making. They all like what they like.
