My once a decade pavlova, just for the MPIC christmas party. Possibly I would make it more often if I owned beaters and didn't have to whip everything by hand...

I hope the Europeans enjoy a little bit of aussie (not NZ 😉) christmas tradition!

@michcampbell ooh maybe I should have done this. I went with a French option (galette de rois) for our department Advent calendar (someone brings or organises something every day!)
@jroper that sounds delicious, and like a very sweet tradition!

Ok, I'll bite. By this time the pavlova is clearly a Christmas tradition in both countries, as is arguing about who made it first. But to say it's not an NZ tradition takes the latter too far. (by the way we made it first)

Who can claim the mighty pav? (+ recipe)

Like all good stories the story of the pavlova is complicated and full of red herrings and folklore.

@RedRobyn i know, I'm just messing, and I couldn't succinctly frame the situation in the 2 minutes I took to write the post. I'm happy to yield the pavlovan invention, but we claim the lamington!
@michcampbell
You can have Russel Crowe too.
Or Russ Le Roq as he styled himself in his bid for fame here
@RedRobyn ha, you can keep Russell!
