snac is interesting. Both tut and Tusky are a wee bit cantankerous when dealing with it, and the web UI, while beautifully #brutalistic, is just a bit too verbose for my liking.
It works well with enafore, though, or at least it seems to.
I think it's definitely worth trying, but probably won't ever be my main home.
I'm pretty happy with GoToSocial for my home. There are times I miss Mastodon (and being on a large instance), but I don't miss the 500-char post limits or the lack of rich text support.

Tuba is the Gnome app, IIRC. You're thinking of Tokodon.
I haven't tried Tokodon in a while, but I'm thinking about it again.
I do like both #Elk and #Phanpy, but I keep coming back to #Enafore (Specifically, @orbitalmartian's flavor) and masto-fe.

I'm using tuba now (https://snac.bsd.cafe/rl_dane/p/1765310120.992060), because I couldn't get Tokodon working with snac for some reason.
Yeah, I don't love the UI. XD
Everything's so oversized and rounded. :P
52 following, 62 followers · Oooo, #Tuba is nice, and works nicely with #snac. Well, ok. It looks like a phone app, has no title bar, and the scrollbars are typical horrible phone-style scrollbars, but it works. #Tokodon just gave me a server error trying to authenticate to snac. :/
