oh that's cool, you can adapt M42 lenses to EF/EF-S/EF-M without degrading image quality with extra optics because it's just a simple flange distance change
@swanson #M42 and #PL / #B4 (and maybe #P6) are the most adaptable mounts there are because they are for full-frame (or in case of P6: Medium Frame) SLRs that inherently have a huge distance between glass and sensor/film and thus enable simple adapters.
- As for targeted bodies: #m43 (micro-4/3s) is the best option with C(s)-Mount coming in behind if you are on a tight budget.
Simply because #MFT has sufficient pixels for DCI-4K but nit too many to let less-sharp #glass look like ass.
- And yes, one can really get some awesome vintage lenses for not much money, like some GDR-made 200mm f/4 with 19 blades for excellent bokeh and perfect portraits!
